Job Summary
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in image processing, spectral analysis, or statistics. The candidate must be highly self-motivated and is able to work in a fast-paced environment. We prefer experimentalists with strong data analysis capabilities. The Sr. Scientist will be expected to explore and develop new algorithms for new products and to enhance our current product lines. Job Duties
• Design algorithms based on problem and requirements
• Define system specifications, optical, and hardware and software requirements for image processing and spectroscopy
• Collaborate with other engineers and scientists
• Model and Test and Optimize new algorithms against simulated and real world data
• Document algorithm design
• Assist software engineers with implementation in Python and C++
• Technically contribute toward the company’s on-going programs
• Initiate original ideas (product and research)
• Prepare Technical Proposals for outside funding and lead programs
• Collaborate/Lead highly multi-disciplinary internal and external teams to advance research and product development goals
• Mentor junior scientists and engineers
• Prepare technical documents and peer-reviewed publications

Skills Requirements
• Ph.D. in Biological, Physical Sciences, Statistics, or Computer Engineering with 4+ years of Postgraduate (industrial) work experience
• Excellent written and oral communications
• Record of technical leadership and initiating novel research
• Government contracts require the applicant must be a US Citizen or US Permanent Resident
