Data Scientist - Bioinformatics

Job Duties

  • Develop models based on project objectives
  • Collaborate with engineers and scientists to validate models and develop stand-alone packages
  • Model, test and optimize new algorithms and models against simulated and real-world data
  • Document models and algorithm design
  • Initiate original ideas (product and research)
  • Propose new ideas to funding agencies as a Principal Investigator (PI)
  • Collaborate/Lead highly multi-disciplinary internal and external teams to advance research and product development goals

Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in Statistics, Mathematics, Biological, or other Physical Sciences with 2+ years of postgraduate (industrial) work experience
  • Python, C++, SAS, R or programming experience
  • Experienced in analyzing complex biological data (NGS, ELISA, MassSpec, imaging, spectroscopy etc.)
  • Excellent written and oral scientific communication skills
  • Prepare technical documents, such as publications, proposals, SOPs, and reports
  • Government contracts require the applicant to be a US Citizen or US Permanent Resident
  • COVID-19 vaccination required
