Data Scientist - Bioinformatics

Job Duties
- Develop models based on project objectives
- Collaborate with engineers and scientists to validate models and develop stand-alone packages
- Model, test and optimize new algorithms and models against simulated and real-world data
- Document models and algorithm design
- Initiate original ideas (product and research)
- Propose new ideas to funding agencies as a Principal Investigator (PI)
- Collaborate/Lead highly multi-disciplinary internal and external teams to advance research and product development goals
Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Statistics, Mathematics, Biological, or other Physical Sciences with 2+ years of postgraduate (industrial) work experience
- Python, C++, SAS, R or programming experience
- Experienced in analyzing complex biological data (NGS, ELISA, MassSpec, imaging, spectroscopy etc.)
- Excellent written and oral scientific communication skills
- Prepare technical documents, such as publications, proposals, SOPs, and reports
- Government contracts require the applicant to be a US Citizen or US Permanent Resident
- COVID-19 vaccination required
