Job Description

Chromologic is actively engaged in multiple cutting-edge biomedical research and development programs and is in need of an electrochemist. The ideal candidate will have strong background in electrochemistry, chemistry, material science, and chemical engineering. The candidate will be responsible for designing and conducting lab experiments to investigate electrochemical reactions, contributing to energy storage and corrosion prevention. This role demands mastery in electrochemical techniques, precise data interpretation, and troubleshooting skills. demonstrate independence in the design and execution of experiments and is expected to lead on-going programs as well as develop new ones. The candidate must be self-motivated, have strong organizational skills and be able to work in a fast-paced interdisciplinary environment.

Job Duties

  • Characterize novel electrolyzer prototypes and explore innovative approaches to further improve electrolyzers’ performance.
  • Work with engineering team to scale up electrolyzers from single cell to multi-cell stack and integrate the stack to electronic control system.
  • Create MEA/CCM assemblies for use in electrolyzers and fuel cells.
  • Develop new solid electrolytes with polymeric or ceramic materials for electrolysis.
  • Collaborate with internal and external teams to advance current research portfolio. 
  • Prepare technical documents, including publications, patents, proposals, SOP’s, technical reports and other relevant documentation. 

Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in chemistry, material science, chemical engineering or other relevant discipline with at least 1-2 years of postgraduate work experience, preferentially in an industrial setting 
  • Fundamentally understand electrochemistry, working mechanism of fuel cell and electrolysis, fluid dynamics, and/or transport phenomena.
  • Hand-on experience in fabrication and integration of electrolyzers or fuel cells.
  • Experience in design and development of new electrolyzers/fuel cells for higher performance 
  • Direct experience with physical, electrochemical and/or material characterization techniques.
  • Experience developing and maintaining a detailed project plan and manage multiple tasks.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, and independent working capability within a team-based environment.
